There are four schools that offer public administration programs in Oregon and are accredited by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA).

Online MPA Programs in Oregon
Of the NASPAA-accredited programs in the state, Oregon State University is the lone school that offers a public administration program, the Master of Public Policy, completely online.
Many of the other universities provide online or hybrid courses within their programs.
Oregon State University
The Online Master of Public Policy can be obtained through the College of Liberal Arts through the OSU Ecampus platform. It is an identical program to the one offered on campus, and, based on concentration selection and completion of the capstone project, will prepare students to immediately enter or advance their career. Those areas of specialization are Energy Policy, Environmental Policy, Rural Policy, and Social Policy.
Students that are entering into the program can apply up to 15 credits of coursework that is graded B or higher. 46 credits are needed for the core courses, which includes 10 credits toward an internship for pre-service students, or additional electives for established working professionals, and the six-credit Applied Policy Capstone Project. An additional 16 credits are needed for the concentration electives. There is a final oral examination that students will take to interpret the material they have learned and presented in the capstone project.
OSU utilizes the Canvas learning management system for their online courses. This provides virtual classrooms so students can interact with other members and faculty, and all online coursework such as assignments and quizzes. Various course material is always available on-demand. Exams that have a proctored requirement are typically completed through ProctorU.

Portland State University
Numerous public administration programs are offered at the College of Urban and Public Affairs through the Hatfield School of Government. The traditional Master of Public Administration requires 60 credits to complete, with half of those being required, 15 of them go toward the specialization chosen, and other courses are in skill development, an Integrative Experience, and fulfills the Diversity Requirement. Specialization options are in Global Leadership, Human Resources, Local Government, Natural Resources, and Nonprofit Management.
A separate MPA program is tailored to Health Administration, and also requires 60 credits to complete. This has a focus on healthcare management in the public and nonprofit sectors. Example required courses include Values and Ethics in Health, Organizational Behavior in Health Services Organizations, and Health Care Law and Regulation. An Executive Master of Public Administration is a quicker program that is designed to be completed within 21 months.
Students are administered into the program in the fall, winter, and spring terms. Required submission items included official transcripts, three letters of recommendation, a resume, and a statement of purpose that goes into why they chose to pursue a degree at the Portland State University and the educational and professional experiences they have had over time.
The Atkinson Graduate School of Management offers a unique Master of Business Administration that is specialized for those that are wanting to obtain their first professional position in the field or are looking to change or advance in business, government, and not-for-profit organizations. There is accreditation in not only NASPAA, but with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
21 months is generally the length of time it takes to complete the curriculum, which consists of core courses, electives, and an internship between the first and second year of the program. Concentrations to customize the degree to suit any studentsâ€™ needs include topics in Entrepreneurship, Global Management, and Management Science and Quantitative Methods. There is also an opportunity to combine a Bachelor of Arts or a Doctor of Jurisprudence.
